A note on Brève:
In French, brève translates to “for a brief time”, and as a musical term, it refers to a note with an unusually long duration of eight beats.
Our duo uses the brief moments in time that we are given with audiences to create a lasting impact.
About
Duo Brève serves to share lasting musical programs of diverse genres and authorship with audiences nationwide. Whether it is for an arts festival, recital, private event, or wedding, Mia and Aimee enjoy collaborating for audiences and spaces intimate to capacious. The flute and harp duo met in 2021 while performing at a summer festival in Maine, and have since performed various recitals along the Eastern Seaboard. Duo Brève has been featured in multiple performance series including those held at Georgia Southwestern State University, St. Simons Presbyterian, and Mayesville Presbyterian Church. Currently, Aimee and Mia are based out of Philadelphia and New Haven where they enjoy performing for local audiences while also sharing their musical passion with communities far and wide.
