Duo Brève serves to share lasting musical programs of diverse genres and authorship with audiences nationwide. Whether it is for an arts festival, recital, or private event, Mia and Aimee enjoy collaborating for audiences and spaces intimate to capacious. The flute and harp duo met in 2021 while performing at a summer festival in Maine, and have since performed contracted recitals along the Eastern Seaboard. Duo Brève is a featured artist on the Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York’s roster, and has performed contracted recitals through Lyric in New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Georgia. Performance series that have featured Duo Brève as recital headliners include Georgia Southwestern State University, St. Simon’s Presbyterian, the Lake City Concert Series, and Mayesville Presbyterian Church. Currently, Aimee and Mia are based out of Philadelphia and New Haven where they enjoy performing for local audiences while also sharing their musical passion with communities far and wide.

Philadelphia-based harpist Mia Venezia is an accomplished performer, having collaborated with ensembles including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, Nashville Opera, and the New World Symphony. Currently, Venezia serves as the principal harpist with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra and the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra.
A frequent collaborator in chamber music, Mia has been featured as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh, the St Augustine Music Festival, and as a two time winner of the Pittsburgh Chamber Society Chamber Division. Venezia currently tours with flutist Aimee Toner in Duo Brève.
Mia earned her Master of Music from the Yale School of Music as an Irving Gilmore Fellow, studying under the tutelage of June Han. Additionally, she received degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Northwestern University, graduating both institutes with distinguished honors. Mia maintains a private teaching studio and coaches with Harp Mastery, where she teaches to inspire and foster the next generation of harpists.

Flutist Aimee Toner performs and teaches throughout the Northeast, including performing in orchestral settings with the Enigma Chamber Opera Orchestra, the Norwalk Symphony, the Du Bois Symphony, the New Amsterdam Opera, the Greater Bridgeport Symphony, and the Glens Falls Symphony, and collaborating in chamber groups that have ranged from jazz trios in Italian restaurants to wind quintets on stage at Carnegie Hall. Aimee holds a Master’s of Music from the New England Conservatory, where she studied with piccolo player of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Cynthia Meyers, and a dual BA from Barnard College where she majored in Ethnomusicology and Economics. As an educator, Toner is Flute Faculty at the University of Connecticut (UCONN), hosts a private studio, and serves as faculty for the Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestra and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School. Aimee is honored to represent Wm S. Haynes Co. as a Haynes Young Artist ,and plays on a custom 10K Haynes Flute.
